Lisa Chang

Hula Halau 'Ohana Holo'oko'a
Chair

Lisa Chang started Hula Halau ‘Ohana Holo‘oko‘a (Hula School Where Everyone is Family) with one adult hula class in 1998 when she was asked to teach by the Portland based Nā Hawai‘i club.  In 2006 she gave up her 20-year career as a pharmacist to follow her passion of sharing hula & Tahitian dance with her community.  The school is celebrating 25 years and has grown to over 100 students in 13 classes ranging in age from 3 to 90 years old.  Since the pandemic she now has students across the U.S.  Lisa loves sharing the aloha spirit and the inclusivity you feel when learning about hula and the Hawaiian culture.  She looks forward welcoming students of all ages, genders, nationalities and experience levels to join their hula and Tahitian family.

Lisa has performed professionally since 1989 and helps create Hawaiian cultural events her clients envision.  One of the highlights of her career was taking her dancers to South Korea to perform at the Cheonan World Dance Festival in 2016.  Hula Halau ʻOhana Holoʻokoʻa performs for private, corporate and community events.  Lisa looks forward to bringing a flavor of Hawaiʻi to your next event.

Tammy Yorba

Edward Jones - Tammy Yorba - Financial Advisor

My parents struggled financially when I was young. Though we never really talked about it, we knew they were doing their best, and we knew not to ask for things we didn't need. My mom even had a TV box (the old cabinet style) filled with coupons, and every weekend when we went shopping, it was our job to go through the coupons and find the ones she needed for our grocery shopping trip. We never had the "best" of anything, but we never went without.

When I was just out of high school, I took the expected path by getting married and having two children. I was fortunate that I was able to be a stay-at-home mom for many years, but as you might expect, that meant a great deal of financial struggle. We learned to be frugal. We learned to do without when it wasn't absolutely necessary.

When my first husband and I divorced, I needed to find work to support myself and our children. I was very fortunate to be offered a starting level position in a call center with a big bank. Though I was concerned that the position was in collections, I had a very good trainer who taught me that collections is just customer service at another level. I did very well in collections. My lifetime of experience helped me to better understand the concerns of these customers. It made me a better listener, and I'm sure the empathy I expressed helped them understand I'd been in their shoes.

That's why I have such a keen need to help others who started saving late, have never done investing before, or need some direction. I've been where you are. I want to help you get to a better place where you are more in control of your finances. I believe that a personalized approach is essential; understanding your unique situation, aspirations and risk tolerance is my priority. Together, we'll craft strategies designed to help you achieve your financial goals.

I want to build lasting relationships with people who I see as friends rather than mere clients. I provide ongoing support and regular check-ins, and I love collaborating with your trusted advisors as needed — be they attorneys or accountants — to create a holistic financial strategy tailored to your life.

If you're looking for a financial advisor who values connection and understanding, I would love to hear from you. Give me a call at (503) 410-3393, and let's get started!
