About
SCARS is an inclusive, thriving, social community nonprofit providing mutual peer support for self-advocacy and healing. SCARS organization is Survivor-volunteer-run and our mission is to empower fellow Survivors to live abuse-free, and to and raise awareness about domestic violence, sexual assault, and other forms of abuse as we inform effective system responses for Survivors and their families. SCARS facilitates peer support groups via Meetup on Zoom and we engage in restorative justice for communities by facilitating virtual Survivor Impact Panels. We elevate Survivor voices and amplify their stories through our impact panels, Survivor blog, and Survivor podcast.
